Hiya gang

Well, that's it! It's all over for another year - well not quite, we're still finding lumps of mud in the PA equipment, etc., and there's a load of work to be done putting the field back to its former glory, But more about that later.

The committee have received many verbal and written compliments about the festival and congratulations on a job well done but we couldn't have done any of it without you, the people who came - it's you we do it for and it would be a pretty pointless task without you!! Your continued and increasing support is much appreciated and we hope that we can build on this year as we have in years before - remember the motto (or one of them anyway) BETTER NOT BIGGER. You are all especially to be congratulated on your fortitude and general "Dunkirk Spirit" in the face of all that rain and mud - Churchill would have been proud of you!! (No not the insurance dog!!)

We also couldn't have done it without a team of helpers, both appointed and volunteers, who did a magnificent job whether it was manning the "door", taking part in the showcase concert, getting sessions going in the pub and elsewhere, and, in particular, during the Sunday evacuation of the field, helping one another to dig out caravans, campers etc., and making sure that we all got off the field. I won't mention names for fear of offending someone by missing one out, but you know who you are and our grateful thanks go to you.

So onto next year - we've already started booking artists (despite the fact that people have said how can we top this year - we will, believe me), and we've booked the same toilets (this year's BETTER project and - weren't they brilliant?).

One thing that is still left over from this year, and in preparation for next, is to put the field back to some sort of order. To this end FAIRFIELD will be hosting THE FAIRFIELD FOLK FIELD REFURBISHMENT FUND concert at The Bowling Green during the Autumn (let's get all of the Holidays and Festivals out of the way first) and of course, you will be the first to know all of the details.

Once again thank you all for your continued support, for your friendship and for making it all worthwhile.
