Hi everyone,
Many of you who have been on the Folk Club Facebook page will have seen comments and reactions from Shorne Bedwell.
Shorne's mum was born in Bromsgrove and moved down many years ago to Herne Bay in Kent. Shorne has almost no sight and has learning difficulties.
Shorne's mum picked up on our Virtual Festival back in June, and they both very much enjoyed watching, listening and interacting over the weekend.
When the virtual club night's started, Shorne was one of the first to respond, and not being users of internet banking or liking electronic transfers, has been sending me cheques for 3 virtual club nights at a time. He has also made a very generous donation for our Christmas charities.
I have received a lovely Christmas card from Shorne and Margaret, including a message using Shorne's braille printer, which I have attached.
Margaret has also written a letter, which I'd like to share with you:
Dear Geoff, please find enclosed cheque for charities from Shorne.
He so enjoys the Bromsgrove Folk Club online - it has been something to look forward to, like the Wurzel Bush Club this year, and also the Mencap Chat Clubs.
24/7 from early March, music has certainly helped us through this awful year's pandemic.
Let's hope 2021 will be a much better year for everyone. Wishing you all Seasons Greetings from Kent to Worcestershire.
Keep safe and well, our very best wishes from Margaret and Shorne

Dear Bromsgrove Folk Club
We hope you are all well and had a restful Christmas.
We would like to say a big thank you for the donations that you sent and how
generous you all were.
Very different times this year and thankfully with your kindness we were still able to
provide gifts for the children for which the parents were very grateful.
Both parents who have been very anxious and children have struggled this year and
we at Home-Start have had to find different ways to offer support which has been a
challenge; but one we have met. We have supported families remotely…1-1 or
groups, delivered focused support programmes and when allowed we have met
families on distanced social walks within our local community.
Once again we would like to say thank you for your continued support and hope 2021
brings better times and this year, we will be able to attend your Christmas celebration
once again which we all missed immensely last year.
Kind Regards
Karen Jones
